Meatloaf with Tangy Tomato Glaze
Ingredients
Meatloaf
- 1 1/2 lb (700 g) ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 cup (80 g) breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp (5 ml) salt, 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) pepper
Glaze
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) ketchup
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) brown sugar
- 1 tsp (5 ml) mustard
Steps
- Mix beef, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Shape into a loaf.
- Stir glaze and spread over loaf. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 50–60 minutes to 160°F (71°C).

- Wine: Cabernet Franc – earthy, herbal; Zinfandel – bold & fruity
- Beer: Porter – caramelized notes; Amber Ale – malty depth
