Sweet Potato & Black Bean Burgers
Ingredients
Patties
- 14 oz (400 g) sweet potato, roasted & mashed
- 1 can (400 g / 14 oz) black beans, rinsed
- 1 cup (80 g) breadcrumbs or oats
- 1 tsp (5 ml) cumin
- 1 tsp (5 ml) chili powder
- Salt and pepper

- Buns and fixings
Steps
- Mash sweet potato and beans; mix with breadcrumbs and spices; season.
- Form patties; pan-sear in a little oil 3–4 minutes per side or bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes.
- Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

- Beer: Amber Ale – malt sweetness; Brown Ale – nutty depth
