Sesame-Ginger Noodles with Vegetables

Ingredients

  • 10 oz (300 g) noodles (udon/lo mein/spaghetti)
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) honey or sugar
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups mixed veg (carrot, pepper, broccoli)
  • Sesame seeds, scallions

Steps

  1. Cook noodles; rinse briefly.
  2. Stir-fry veg in a little oil until crisp-tender. Whisk sesame oil, soy, vinegar, honey, ginger, and garlic.
  3. Toss noodles with veg and sauce; garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.

Pairings

  • Wine: Pinot Gris – texture, citrus; Albariño – fresh, saline
  • Beer: Pilsner – crisp; Hazy IPA – tropical hops
