Classic Beef Chili
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 lb (700 g) ground beef
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) chili powder
- 1 tsp (5 ml) cumin
- 1 tsp (5 ml) smoked paprika
- 14 oz (400 g) tomatoes
- 14 oz (400 g) kidney beans, drained
- 1 cup (250 ml) beef stock
- Salt, sugar to balance, lime
Steps
- Sauté onion and garlic; add beef and brown.
- Stir in spices; cook 1 minute. Add tomatoes, beans, and stock; simmer 30–40 minutes.
- Season to taste; finish with a squeeze of lime.
